What is the IDB Board of Governors?

The Board of Governors is the IDB’s highest authority. Governors are usually member-country finance ministers, central bank presidents, or other high-ranking officials. The Governors of the Bank’s 48 member countries assemble in March or April each year for the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors, an event that has become the highest-impact economic summit in the Americas.

The five-day forum draws government economic authorities, development agency officials, public and private sector finance executives, and other stakeholders in Latin American and Caribbean economic and social progress, along with world development leaders and local and international specialized media representatives.
